D3.1 Report on baseband and antenna concepts

This deliverable summarizes the preliminary D-band radio concepts of ARIADNE, as an output of the work conducted during the first 12 months of the project in Tasks 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4. The main objective of this deliverable is to explore concepts and designs for the development of prototypes that will be utilized in ARIADNE’s demonstrators. To this end, different approaches and schemes were considered and discussed among the partners for the down-selection of candidates for implementation. Thus, Deliverable 3.1 briefly presents the state-of-the-art in D-band communication and metasurfaces and includes the description of preliminary concepts and approaches as well as their performance assessment. The derived conclusions pave the way towards the implementation of ARIADNE’s hardware demonstrators.
