  "description": "<p>&nbsp;Jesus&rsquo; teaching that the praxis of love of neighbour is&nbsp;<br>\nthe means to inherit eternal life therefore is of interest to all,<br>\nirrespective of their religious or ideological backgrounds, since&nbsp;<br>\nit deals with a value that is shared universally. So the author<br>\ntakes up the parable of the Good Samaritan and develops a per-&shy;<br>\nspective that affirms this illustration of love of neighbour as a<br>\npoint of convergence of religions, given the presence of and em&shy;-<br>\nphasis on love of neighbour in all religions. Then the author<br>\ntraces the love commandment in other religions. The author con&shy;<br>\ncludes that the followers of different religions do not have to<br>\ngive up or ignore the differences which exist among them. It is<br>\npossible that agreeing and working together on this common<br>\npoint of convergence of the love commandments might bring down&nbsp;<br>\nunwarranted prejudices, promote mutual respect and a sense of<br>\ncamaraderie among them. It can also open up new avenues of<br>\nunderstanding and promote closeness on an ongoing basis, thus<br>\ncontributing positively to the climate of dialogue and co-opera&shy;-<br>\ntion. Thus the love commandments have a great potential to<br>\npromote convergence in the encounter of religions.<br>\n&nbsp;</p>",
