Based on a concrete case study it will be shown how kowledge-based systems can be applied for the support of strategical and tactical information management tasks. First, the differences of knowledge and information management and the potential for a collaboration of both disciplines will be worked out. Thereafter, the theoretical ideas are illustrated through the conceptual model of the tool TecNavigator, which is applied successfully in a German bank.
