    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&lt;p&gt;IUCLID (International Uniform ChemicaL Information Database) is perhaps one of the most utilised software applications for the electronic submission (e-submission) of chemical data in Europe. It enables organisations or individuals to record, store, submit, and exchange data on intrinsic and hazard properties of chemical substances in the format of the OECD Harmonized Templates (OHT). This report provides an overview of the pilot project that was commissioned by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) to explore and examine the feasibility of preparing a pesticide dossier in IUCLID format with the aim to improve transparency and maximise access to data on chemicals and their use.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;knoell&amp;rsquo;s aims were to test, as part of a pilot study, the creation and use of a plant protection product dossier in IUCLID format, and provide feedback of the overall process, issues, time taken and make future recommendations for the application. Further aims and objectives include the critical assessment of the feasibility, intuitiveness, effort and benefit to all stakeholders for pesticide dossier creation using IUCLID. The use of IUCLID should ease the submission and evaluation process for applicants and the relevant authorities.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Overall the evaluation of the software by knoell was a positive one.&lt;br&gt;
