    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&lt;p&gt;This report summarizes the results of a survey&amp;nbsp;of&amp;nbsp;World Data System members conducted between 02 April and 31 July 2019 by the World Data System International Technology Office at&amp;nbsp;the University of Victoria. The purpose of the survey was&amp;nbsp;to determine&amp;nbsp;the current state of institutions&amp;rsquo; data management systems and processes, and&amp;nbsp;gauge their interest in technical support for existing repositories. It further served as&amp;nbsp;an opportunity to introduce members of the WDS to the new ITO office. The survey provided&amp;nbsp;a first look at the current state of the WDS members technology,&amp;nbsp;their expertise, interests, needs and expectations.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
