DIEZ DE VELASCO, Francisco
The Louvre Museum CA 1264, attributed by Beazley to R Group, raised since its first publication by Pottier in 1916 an interpretative question. Within the framework of a scene centred on a funeral stele a winged character seemed to pounce on a woman who was running away in horror. This type of iconographic development is clearly anomalous and the identification of the winged genius is not easy.
