Alternate genome assemblies were generated using Illumina data from a published study (Weinstein et al, 2019) publicly available on Sequence Reads Archive (SRA) at accession PRJNA528747. Assemblies were generated with either Platanus or SoapDenovo2 using varying step-sizes (Platanus) or kmers (SoapDenovo2) and using either a 1kb or 200bp cutoff on scaffold lengths. These assemblies were then analyzed in a separate study (under review) to identify regional expansions or contractions associated with high levels of heterozygosity.
