    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;(1) Introduction&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;WGBIS is the Bayesian geodetic inversion package that uses as observations, the interferometric wrapped phases.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In WGBIS, earthquake and volcano source parameters are estimated directly from the interferometric wrapped phase, rather than the unwrapped phases, thus phase unwrapping errors are avoided. Using a Bayesian approach, WGBIS&amp;nbsp;provides an assessment of the model uncertainty. Extensive testing shows that this method has the capability to escape local minima during the model inversion.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;(2) Novel aspects of the WGBIS method:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;A new method to model interferometric wrapped phase based on Bayesian inference.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Wrapped observations are weighted by appropriate data covariance.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;An improved wrapped interferometic phase data downsampling algorithm.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;WGBIS further extends current state-of-the-art geodetic modelling of InSAR data to cases where phase unwrapping is difficult or impossible.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
