Dataverse is an open source software platform, community driven, and allows integrations with other data services such as&nbsp;<a href="https://datacite.org/">DataCite</a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a href="https://ropensci.org/">ROpenScience</a>. It has a modular design principle using API&rsquo;s, that allows for distributed file storage, and supports the building of further microservices on top.</p> <p>The SSHOC Webinar &quot;Discussion meeting about requirements of CESSDA Service Providers for a Dataverse repository&quot; took place on March 18, 2020.</p> <p>We discussed with potential interested Service Providers what their ideas are about such a service:</p> <ul> <li>Would service providers&nbsp;like to use the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sshopencloud.eu/news/developing-sshoc-dataverse">SSHOC Dataverse</a>, when available?</li> <li>What are their requirements?</li> <li>How much localization is needed?</li> <li>Would they like to use a central service in the cloud or an installation on their own institutional environment?</li> </ul> <p>The webinar started&nbsp;with a presentation of the current functionality, followed by a presentation of new features to be developed. After these presentations we collected input from&nbsp;the audience. The discussion&nbsp;focused on essential requirements for such a service, preferences, organisation, necessary training.</p> <p>The webinar was&nbsp;chaired by&nbsp;<a href="https://dans.knaw.nl/nl/over/organisatie-beleid/medewerkers/Wittenberg">Marion Wittenberg</a>, service manager of&nbsp;<a href="https://dataverse.nl/">DataverseNL</a>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<a href="https://dans.knaw.nl/nl">Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS)</a>, together with her colleagues&nbsp;<a href="https://dans.knaw.nl/en/about/organisation-and-policy/staff/huis-in-t-veld">Laura Huis in &lsquo;t Veld</a>, functional manager, and&nbsp;<a href="https://dans.knaw.nl/en/about/organisation-and-policy/staff/tykhonov-msc">Vyacheslav Tykhonov</a>, Information Scientist.</p> <p><strong>The event was&nbsp;intended for staff of interested Service Providers from&nbsp;<a href="https://www.cessda.eu/">CESSDA</a>.</strong></p></description> </descriptions> <fundingReferences> <fundingReference> <funderName>European Commission</funderName> <funderIdentifier funderIdentifierType="Crossref Funder ID">10.13039/501100000780</funderIdentifier> <awardNumber awardURI="info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/EC/H2020/823782/">823782</awardNumber> <awardTitle>Social Sciences & Humanities Open Cloud</awardTitle> </fundingReference> </fundingReferences> </resource>
