Dataverse is an open source software platform, community driven, and allows integrations with other data services such as DataCite or ROpenScience. It has a modular design principle using API’s, that allows for distributed file storage, and supports the building of further microservices on top.
\n\n
The SSHOC Webinar "Discussion meeting about requirements of CESSDA Service Providers for a Dataverse repository" took place on March 18, 2020.
\n\n
We discussed with potential interested Service Providers what their ideas are about such a service:
\n\n
\n\t
Would service providers like to use the SSHOC Dataverse, when available?
\n\t
What are their requirements?
\n\t
How much localization is needed?
\n\t
Would they like to use a central service in the cloud or an installation on their own institutional environment?
\n
\n\n
The webinar started with a presentation of the current functionality, followed by a presentation of new features to be developed. After these presentations we collected input from the audience. The discussion focused on essential requirements for such a service, preferences, organisation, necessary training.
\n\n
The webinar was chaired by Marion Wittenberg, service manager of DataverseNL at Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS), together with her colleagues Laura Huis in ‘t Veld, functional manager, and Vyacheslav Tykhonov, Information Scientist.
\n\n
The event was intended for staff of interested Service Providers from CESSDA.
", "author": [ { "family": "Marion Wittenberg" }, { "family": "Vyacheslav Tykhonov" }, { "family": "Laura Huis in 't Veld" } ], "id": "3714988", "type": "speech", "event": "SSHOC Webinar - Discussion meeting about requirements of CESSDA Service Providers for a Dataverse repository" }
