Working with weakly magnetized samples on the OPRF cryomagnetometer

At the Otago Palaeomagnetic Research Facility we routinely work with very weakly magnetized samples whose remanences are near the limit of the 2G cryomagnetometer’s range. This technical note documents experiments on measurement techniques and parameters and their effects on the precision of the resulting data, and suggests best practices for maximizing measurement precision when using the cryomagnetometer.
