Foram utilizadas as m&eacute;dias das velocidades m&eacute;dias di&aacute;rias, de 42 anos (1952/1993), registradas na Esta&ccedil;&atilde;o Agroclimatol&oacute;gica de Pelotas. Os resultados preliminares das an&aacute;lises realizadas indicaram duas ondas senoidais destacadas pelo periodograma e pela densidade espectral, a anual e a semestral. O modelo composto com estas duas ondas apresentou um <em>r</em><sup><em>2</em></sup> de 0,79, representando de forma adequada a sazonalidade dos dados. A qualidade do ajuste do modelo aos dados observados foi verificada pela an&aacute;lise dos res&iacute;duos. As autocorrela&ccedil;&otilde;es dos res&iacute;duos indicaram que pode-se aceitar o modelo como adequado para representar a variabilidade dos dados. Pelo modelo pode-se observar um m&iacute;nimo localizado no outono e um m&aacute;ximo na primavera.
