Chapter compares DH as a paradiscipline to area disciplines such as Medieval Studies and argues a) that &quot;Diversity&quot; cannot be distinguished from &quot;Quality&quot; within the Digital Humanities; and b) even if it could, &quot;Diversity&quot; would be more important than &quot;Quality&quot; for the progress of the field. Concludes with a discussion on the importance (and ethics) of discussing ostensibly private or closed debates among &quot;gatekeeper&quot; committees within&nbsp;DH, arguing that such conversations have played an outsized role in the development of the field and must be treated as a core part of the discipline&#39;s history.&nbsp;</p>",
