    <dct:description>&lt;p&gt;A discussion of the &amp;quot;Diversity Debate&amp;quot; in the Digital Humanities, with particular reference to DH 2016. Chapter compares DH as a paradiscipline to area disciplines such as Medieval Studies and argues a) that &amp;quot;Diversity&amp;quot; cannot be distinguished from &amp;quot;Quality&amp;quot; within the Digital Humanities; and b) even if it could, &amp;quot;Diversity&amp;quot; would be more important than &amp;quot;Quality&amp;quot; for the progress of the field. Concludes with a discussion on the importance (and ethics) of discussing ostensibly private or closed debates among &amp;quot;gatekeeper&amp;quot; committees within&amp;nbsp;DH, arguing that such conversations have played an outsized role in the development of the field and must be treated as a core part of the discipline&amp;#39;s history.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</dct:description>
