International Experience in Counteraction to Domestic Violence during Criminal Proceeding

The article has understood the concept of domestic violence and its forms. The reasons for domestic violence in Ukraine have been increased, as well as the international law on domestic violence.

Studies of the situation of domestic violence in different countries show that its consequences can be: a threat to the life and health of a person or a psychological trauma, which in the future may adversely affect the victim's family life. Particularly grave consequences are the violence inflicted on the child by his or her own witness or victim.
Іn accordance with the provisions of the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, "domestic violence" means all acts of physical, sexual, psychological or economic violence occurring within the family or within the place of residence, or between a former or present spouse or partner, whether the offender resides in the same place as the victim or not, or regardless of whether the offender resided in the same place as the victim or not.
