DeepGreen – Pushing on the Green Road of Open Access Funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) DeepGreen is a project aiming to make scientific publications more available through Open Access. The project implements an automated workflow pushing on the green road of Open Access to organise the secondary publication in a technical comfortable and legal consistent way. For many publications under Alliance and National Licenses with Open Access components in the licence agreements this option often remains unused as its realisation means a high manual effort. Publishers deliver the affected publications and the associated metadata periodically to DeepGreen and the router will supply the data automatically to entitled institutional or disciplinary repositories. Aiming this the publishers Karger, SAGE, BMJ and De Gruyter participate in the project. The main goal of DeepGreen is to increase the overall number of publications made available through the green road of Open Access. So in conclusion DeepGreen shows a practical way in contributing to the Open Access transformation.
