Immature stages of Lucilia sericata (Meigen, 1826) were studied as cultured in medium at three concentrations of Thiocodin, the cough suppressant based on codeine phosphate (methyl morphine derivative) and guaiacolsulfonate, available without a prescription. The obtained results proved that the presence of the drug affects both development time and growth rate, which consequently may affect the estimation of the postmortem interval (PMI).
