Los espacios multiconfesionales en centros públicos en España: ensayo de tipología

  • 1. Universidad de La Laguna

Description

The paper begins (§ 1-3) with a review of the major challenges for the design and implementation of multi-faith spaces in spain (focusing the study on the main legal, philosophical and practical bases of the question). In the central section of the paper (§ 4-8) a typology on ten models is proposed from the neutral to the confessional ones. The first model (§ 4a), characterised by the neutrality of the design is the most operational and preferable in public centres (not only in spain but also from a global perspective). It consists of a double room, one with chairs for users of chairs in worship (Christians, Jews, etc.) and the other without chairs for the followers of religions whose worship activities are done mainly sitting on the floor (Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, etc.).
