The propagated advances of Artificial Intelligence have opened the debate on ethical issues of the use of these technologies in everyday life and also in scientific practice itself. Thus, the initial question that arises is: how are the social sciences and the humanities adopting these new techniques? And, in particular, how can Information Science contribute to the epistemological understanding of these new areas of knowledge without falling into a merely commercial narrative or a "revolutionary" discourse of how society will be "transformed" by the use of such technologies? Through literature review and exploratory research, this essay sought to analyze how the Information Science has used data mining techniques and whether the field can make important contributions to the use of Data Mining both from an epistemological point of view and also in its practical uses specifically in the area of knowledge organization systems.</p>", "language": "por", "title": "Data Mining in Information Science Research: Challenges And Opportunities", "license": { "id": "CC-BY-4.0" }, "notes": "FAPERJ - Programa Cientista do Nosso Estado - 202.519/2019", "relations": { "version": [ { "count": 1, "index": 0, "parent": { "pid_type": "recid", "pid_value": "3521037" }, "is_last": true, "last_child": { "pid_type": "recid", "pid_value": "3521038" } } ] }, "communities": [ { "id": "larhud" } ], "keywords": [ "Data Mining", "Data Science", "Epistemology" ], "publication_date": "2019-10-23", "creators": [ { "orcid": "0000-0001-7629-1404", "affiliation": "Josir Cardoso", "name": "Gomes" }, { "orcid": "0000-0002-1612-4126", "affiliation": "Ricardo Medeiros", "name": "Pimenta" }, { "orcid": "0000-0001-5053-9491", "affiliation": "Marco Andr\u00e9 Feldman", "name": "Schneider" } ], "meeting": { "acronym": "ENANCIB 2019", "url": "http://www.enancib2019.ufsc.br/", "session": "GT1", "place": "Florian\u00f3polis, Brazil", "title": "Encontro Nacional de Pesquisa em Ci\u00eancia da Informa\u00e7\u00e3o 2019" }, "access_right": "open", "resource_type": { "subtype": "conferencepaper", "type": "publication", "title": "Conference paper" }, "related_identifiers": [ { "scheme": "doi", "identifier": "10.5281/zenodo.3470020", "relation": "cites", "resource_type": "dataset" }, { "scheme": "doi", "identifier": "10.5281/zenodo.3521037", "relation": "isVersionOf" } ] } }
