Public blockchains, e.g., bitcoin, are often energyconsuming</p>\n\n<p>and low efficient. Therefore, an empirical study of</p>\n\n<p>operating permissioned blockchains in clouds is urgently needed.</p>\n\n<p>In this paper, we study the performance of Sawtooth, a wellknown</p>\n\n<p>permissioned blockchain platforms from Hyperledger, in</p>\n\n<p>cloud environments. Our results provide insights for blockchain</p>\n\n<p>operators to optimize the performance of Sawtooth through</p>\n\n<p>adjusting the two configuration parameters, i.e., Scheduler and</p>\n\n<p>Maximum Batches Per Block. Our approach can be used to test</p>\n\n<p>other blockchain platforms.</p>",
