Der Einfluss von Hermann Andreas Pistorius auf Kants Argumentation im Paragrafen „Von dem Befugnisse der reinen Vernunft, im praktischen Gebrauche zu einer Erweiterung, die ihr im spekulativen für sich nicht möglich ist“ in der Kritik der praktischen Vernunft

In his Rezension der Erläuterungen über des

Herrn Professors Kant Critik der reinen Vernunft von

Johann Schultze’, Hermann Andreas Pistorius raises

two important and at the same time seriously problematic

issues concerning the application of the concept

of causality in the Kantian definition of transcendental

freedom. On one hand, Pistorius questions

the objective reality of this category in its application

in the noumemal field. On the other hand, he

points out that this application can represent the violation

of the most basic Kantian principle, according

to which we can apply categories of the intellect only

to objects of possible experience. My contribution

shows that in the Paragraf “Von dem Befugnisse” in

his Critique of Practical Reason, Kant provides an

answer to these two objections.
