Numerical model code and input files to run landscape evolution models with strike-slip faulting and measure channel offsets

Description

This repository contains codes and input files necessary to reproduce the simulations and analyze output presented in the manuscript: Offset channels do not accurately record strike-slip fault displacement: Evidence from landscape evolution models by Nadine G. Reitman, Karl J. Mueller, Gregory E. Tucker, Ryan D. Gold, Richard W. Briggs, and Katherine R. Barnhart. Please cite the above manuscript as well as this Zenodo repository when using these codes. Contents:

• config.yaml - parameter input file to run strike_slip_model.py

• config_files.zip - contains all parameter input files for all model runs analyzed in above manuscript

• slip.zip - contains Python functions required to run strike_slip_model.py

• strike_slip_model.py - the landscape evolution model with lateral displacement

• drainage_area.py - code to calculate drainage area from model output

• measure_offsets.py - code to measure channel offsets from model output

• parameter_values.xlsx - table with all parameter values used in model runs in above manuscript

• ztopo_1000x500y1.asc - initial topography ASCII file used in all model runs in above manuscript
