Francisco Gámez Marín y Agustín Musso: dos precursores de las ideas lingüísticas en la educación secundaria pública uruguaya

Description

This work presents the prefaces of Introducción al estudio del idioma castellano. Compendio de la Gramática Razonada (1911) and Compendio de la Gramática Razonada (1913) by Francisco Gámez Marín, and also Curso Teórico-Práctico de Idioma Castellano. Primera Parte y Segunda Parte (1921 [1920] y 1921) de Francisco Gámez Marín y Agustín Musso, used in the subject "Idioma Castellano" Plan 1912 during the process of generalization of the public secondary education in Uruguay.
As antecedents of the principal work by Gámez Marín, de prefaces of the books from 1904, 1906 y 1910 are taken. Meanwhile, the prologes of the book from 1914 of Gámez Marín and the book from 1922 by Gámez Marín y Musso, both dedicated to primary education, are analyzed.
In the framerwork of linguistic historiography we discuss aspects related to the manuals as instruments of the linguistic planning.
