In recent years, SDN- and NFV-driven approaches paved the way for more flexible and agile network orchestration and management. With the softwarization of networks, definition of complex network management strategies was facilitated. Consequentially, we aim to close the gap between business processes and network management. Our Business Process Logic Controller (BPLC) moves the definition of KPI requirements to the business logic itself, providing a fast and responsive network management driven by the business needs. In this work, we are introducing the concept of BPLC and highlight its advantages on a smart manufacturing use case, which we at Weidmüller, are currently operating.
