Data Duplication as well as Network Coding in combination with multi-connectivity are corresponding approaches that promise increased RAN reliability. In this work, the advantages and disadvantages of both Network Coding and Data Duplication are studied. Moreover, a novel hybrid approach is proposed, which combines the advantages of both approaches.
