Multi-lidar observations of Vestas multi-rotor turbine wake

Description

In this talk, we will present results from a multi-rotor wake measurement campaign carried out in a collaboration between DTU Wind Energy and Vestas. The wake of the Vestas multi-rotor wind turbine demonstrator, which was located at the Risø campus, has been measured using a dual-Doppler system accompanied by a 15-m mast and a profiling lidar. The measurements were carried out during a three-month period from mid of August until mid of November 2018. The focus of the campaign was to create a high-quality benchmark data set for the analysis of the wake geometry, and especially the wake propagation, decay and wind field recovery speed.
