<dct:description>
3D models and photosets of Crocodile tracks and trackways

The files in this dataset comprise zip folders containing a set of photos, and a textured mesh, of trackways made by 12 species of crocodile.

The physical casts were originally described in:

Milàn, J. and R. Hedegaard (2010). "Interspecific variation in tracks and trackways from extant crocodiles." New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science Bulletin 51: 15-30

The data presented here are newly generated photogrammetric models, along with the associated photo sets. The models themselves have been reduced in order to keep file size manageable, but all photos have been included at full resolution so that others can produce their own high-res models from them.

Included data are as follows:

Alligator sinensis | (Chinese Alligator) | 15-20 kg, 160 cm
Caiman crocodylus | (Spectacled caiman) | 12 kg, 130 cm
Caiman latirostris | (Broad-nosed caiman) | 13 kg, 135 cm (pregnant)
Caiman latirostris II | (Broad-nosed caiman) | 1.5 kg, 70 cm
Crocodylus cataphractus | (Slender-snouted crocodile) | 7 kg, 149 cm
Crocodylus johnsoni | (Fresh water crocodile) | 5 kg, 112 cm
Crocodylus johnsoni II | (Fresh water crocodile) | 25 kg, 90 cm
Crocodylus novaeguineae | (New Guinea crocodile) | 15 kg, 175 cm
Crocodylus rhombifer | (Cuban crocodile) | 2 kg, 80 cm
Crocodylus siamensis | (Siamese crocodile) | 10 kg, 140 cm
Gavialis gagesticus | (Gharial) | 40 kg, 225 cm
Osteolaemus tatraspis | (Dwarf crocodile) | 2 kg, 79 cm
Paleosuchus palpebrosus | (Dwarf caiman) | 15 kg, 140 cm
Paleosuchus palpebrosus II | (Dwarf caiman) | 0.5 kg, 50 cm
Tomistoma schlegelii (1x Manus, 2 x Pes) | (False gharial) | 270 cm

</dct:description>
