Description
Teaching of the moral theology at the seminary in Diocese of Siedlce 1818-2018
This article concerns the teaching of the moral theology at the seminary in Diocese of Siedlce over the last 200 years and consists of three parts. The first part shows the histo- rical context of the moral theology in the 18th and 19th century. The second one discusses the ways of teaching moral theology in the seminary of Janów Podlaski - first capitol of Diocese - from the beginning to the liquidation of Diocese in 1867. The last part presents the ways of teaching moral theology after second establishment, which took place in 1918, up to now. The presented overview of the moral education issues at the seminary in Siedlce during the 19th century shows that essentially it is the legalistic theology. However, it is already situated in the perspective of the emerging renovation that has become firmly established at the Church after Vatican Council II, which took place in the first half of the 20th century.
