Tealdo da Sestri Levante, un notaio del secolo XIII al servizio del comune di Genova

The article focuses on notary Tealdo da Sestri Levante, and provides a biographical reconstruction as well as an analysis of his documentation. Through most of his life Tealdo was in the service of the Genoese commune, occupying different posts connected to both his solid professional competences and his military skills, as evidenced by the analysis of the fragments of a number of cartularies which show him as scribe of the castellanies of Bonifacio and Gavi and as tower-keeper of the castle of Portovenere.
