Starting with simple
\nsearch tasks for outliers, anomalies etc. in data to analytical comparisons, information visualizations may
\nlead to a faster and more precise solving of tasks. There exist a variety of methods to support users in the process
\nof task solving, e.g. superimposing, juxtaposing or partitioning complex visual structures. Commonly all
\nthese methods make use of a single data source that is visualized at the same time. We propose in this paper an
\napproach that goes beyond the established methods and enables visualizing different databases, data-sets and
\nsub-sets of data with juxtaposed visual interfaces. Our approach should be seen as an expandable method. Our
\nmain contributions are an in-depth analysis of visual task models and an approach for juxtaposing visual layouts as
\nvisual interfaces to enable solving complex tasks.
", "language": "eng", "title": "JUXTAPOSING VISUAL LAYOUTS \u2013 AN APPROACH FOR SOLVING ANALYTICAL AND EXPLORATORY TASKS THROUGH ARRANGING VISUAL INTERFACES", "license": { "id": "CC-BY-4.0" }, "relations": { "version": [ { "count": 1, "index": 0, "parent": { "pid_type": "recid", "pid_value": "2542951" }, "is_last": true, "last_child": { "pid_type": "recid", "pid_value": "2542952" } } ] }, "version": "1", "keywords": [ "Information Visualization, Visual Analytics, visual tasks, visual interfaces" ], "publication_date": "2018-09-17", "creators": [ { "orcid": "0000-0002-2907-2740", "affiliation": "Darmstadt Univeristy of Applied Sciences", "name": "Kawa Nazemi" }, { "orcid": "0000-0002-6507-7899", "affiliation": "Darmstadt Univeristy of Applied Sciences", "name": "Dirk Burkhardt" } ], "meeting": { "acronym": "VARE", "url": "http://www.msc-les.org/conf/vare2018/", "title": "International Conference of the Virtual and Augmented Reality in Education" }, "access_right": "open", "resource_type": { "subtype": "conferencepaper", "type": "publication", "title": "Conference paper" }, "related_identifiers": [ { "scheme": "doi", "identifier": "10.5281/zenodo.2542951", "relation": "isVersionOf" } ] } }
