An architecture for time-critical IP broadcasting in the cloud

Description

Today’s live remote TV production is still based on very expensive and specific equipment. Besides that, covering big events is a complex challenge, both from technological and logistic point of view. In this paper, we present a high-level architecture to virtualize live IP production to the cloud, in order to provide production teams with more flexible tools at reduced cost. While we outline the basic components for a modular distributed system, we also address some problems in the time-critical domain.
