Le regole per governare di Francesco Sansovino, poliedrico volgarizzatore e lettore di Aristotele

Description

This article explores the multifaceted activity of Francesco Sansovino as an author of political precepts. The analysis reveals that not only did Sansovino carry out an intense programme of translation into the vernacular in order to produce his collections of precepts, but also that his work was profoundly influenced by the cultural environment of the Accademia degli Infiammati and his own interest in Aristotelian rhetoric.
