    "description": "<p>On October 9th, 2018, the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released a special report that forecasts global temperature to increase by 1.5 &deg;C above pre-industrial levels between 2030 and 2052, at the rate of +0.2 &deg;C per decade. Such increase will result in significant additional environmental damage that can be mitigated only by heavily cutting on CO 2 emissions. In addition, the development and spreading of new technologies and good policies form key components of the adaptations necessary to face the challenges posed by such dramatic change. Challenges come with opportunities, and as recommended by IPCC guidelines, societal changes need to promote social justice and equity to build a fair, peaceful and cooperative world.</p>\n\n<p>The Marie Curie Alumni Association hereby expresses its support to the conclusions of the IPCC report, and provides the following comments and recommendations (see document).</p>",
