The main factors for forming the competitive position of the national economy

Description

The subject of the study is the peculiarities of the formation of the competitive position of the
national economy.
The purpose of the study is a methodological approach to the specification of the concept of
«competitive position» with the allocation of its specific features and main factors.
Research methods. The work uses the dialectical method of scientific knowledge, the method of
analysis and synthesis, the comparative method, the method of data generalization.
Results of work. The article deals with scientific approaches to the definition of the essence of
the concept of «competition’, identified different types of competition, generalized
approaches to the classification features of economic competition. The comparative characteristic of the main market
structures is given, the definition of the concept of «competitive environment» as an integral part of the
market economy, and the definition of the economic category «competitive position» is given. The main
features of competitiveness as one of the criteria of the efficiency of the economic entity are considered.
Conclusions. Based on the study of changes in competitive relations in a global dimension, the
transformation of which is large and controversial, it has been established that the process of forming
a global competitive environment coincides with the development of three related trends, namely: 1)
the unification of regional markets into the world; 2) the formation of global market participants through
merger and acquisition phenomena; 3) the formation of a system of supranational regulation of competitive
relations, which allows to consider the latter as the result of the functioning of economic systems.
