    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;The article deals with the issues of control in the process of systematic formation of grammatical competence as a necessary component of the communicative-speaking competence of foreign students &lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;at&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; the preparatory faculty. The purpose of the article is to determine the content&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;s&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; of the lexical-grammatical component of language competence and to develop means for its effective control &lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;for&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; foreign students &lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;(&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;non-philolog&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;ical speciality) who&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; study Russian as &lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;Second&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; &lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;L&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;anguage (1 certification level).&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;&amp;nbsp;The work specifies the meaning of the concept. &amp;laquo;Linguistic competence&amp;raquo;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;. Besides,&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; the significance of its lexico-grammatical component &lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;is&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; revealed. There is a list of functions of language control, which include verifying, evaluative, motivational-stimulating, educational, corrective, diagnostic, generalizing and developing. This classification of types of control depends on the stages of its implementation and the form of &lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;application&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;The author analyzes the traditional means of control and presents a new type of controlling&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;,&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; a multilevel language test, developed and implemented in the educational process. The main features of the &lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;offered&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; test are: increasing the complexity level within a single test, the convenience of &lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;completing&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;, graphic design and verification, the &lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;productivity&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;, objectivity&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;,&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; multi-functionality and the possibility of using test variants as adaptive-training.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;The novelty of the work is to create and use a new type of controlling test&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;ing&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; materials, which ensure the phased systematic monitoring of the level of language competence of foreign students throughout their period of study at the preparatory&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt; y f&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;aculty. The author concludes that the introduction into the educational process of a combined system of educational materials containing both traditional means of control and a modern test of a multilevel structure, optimizes the control process and improves the quality of measurement and assessment of the level of language competence of foreign students. .&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
