Research in information science and scholarly communication strongly relies on the availability of openly accessible datasets of metadata and, where possible, their relative payloads. To this end, CrossRef plays a pivotal role by providing free access to its entire metadata collection, and allowing other initiatives to link and enrich its information. Therefore, a number of key pieces of information result scattered across diverse datasets and resources freely available online. As a result of this fragmentation, researchers in this domain end up struggling with daily integration problems producing a plethora of ad-hoc datasets, therefore incurring in a waste of time, resources, and infringing open science best practices. DOIBoost is a metadata collection that enriches CrossRef with inputs from Microsoft Academic Graph, ORCID, and Unpaywall for the purpose of supporting high-quality and robust research experiments, saving times to researchers and enabling their comparison.
\n\nThis entry consists of two files: doiBoost.tar.gz (which contains a set of part.gz files, each one containing the JSON files realtive to the enriched CrossRef records) and termsOfUse.doc (which contains details on the terms of use of DOIBoost).
\n\nNote that this records comes with two relationships to other results of this experiment:

\r\n\r\nImagine a vast collection of research products linked together, contextualised and openly available. OpenAIRE has been working to gather this valuable record for the past ten years. OpenAIRE is pleased to announce the beta release of its Graph, a massive collection of metadata and links between scientific products such as articles, datasets, software, and other research products, entities like organisations, funders, funding streams, projects, communities, and data sources.
\r\n\r\nAs of today, the OpenAIRE Graph aggregates more than 450Mi metadata records with links collecting from 10,000 data sources trusted by scientists, including repositories registered in OpenDOAR, Open Access journals registered in DOAJ, Crossref, Unpaywall, ORCID and Microsoft Academic Graph. After cleaning, deduplication, and fine-grained classification processes, they narrow down to ~150Mi publications, ~20Mi datasets, ~340K software research products, 6Mi other products linked together with semantic relations. Algorithms mine more than 10Mi full-texts of Open Access publications to enrich metadata records with additional properties and links among research products, funders, projects, communities, and organizations. Thanks to the mining algorithm, the graph is completed with ~500Mi semantic relations.
\r\n\r\nThe OpenAIRE Graph is also available via our Explore Portal.

OpenAIRE is a socio-technical infrastructure for scholarly communication and Open Science. For over ten years it has been supporting Open Science at national levels via its network of experts (National Open Access Desks – NOADs) who support policy development for Open Science within the research realm. At a technical level, OpenAIRE has developed a range of innovative services, powered by its Open Science Graph - a unique and vast body of knowledge, an interoperable dataset of research results that promotes discoverability and relationships between research artefacts.

For over ten years it has been supporting Open Science at national levels via its network of experts from key national organizations (National Open Access Desks – NOADs) who support policy development for Open Science within the research realm. Together they train and guide today and tomorrow’s researchers in the many aspects of Open Science.
\nAt a technical level, OpenAIRE has developed a range of innovative services, powered by its Open Science Graph - a unique and vast body of knowledge, an interoperable dataset of research results that promotes discoverability and relationships between research artefacts.
\n\n\nOpenAIRE has grown through a series of project phases funded by the European Commission: from the DRIVER projects to link Europe’s repository infrastructure, to the first OpenAIRE project aimed to assist the EC in implementing its initial pilot for Open Access (OA) to publications, and, through several further phases which have extended and consolidated the OpenAIRE mission to implement Open Science policies.
\n\nOpenAIRE’s ambitious plan for the future will enable the social and technical links to make Open Science a reality in Europe and beyond. It will ddress on one hand, key aspects and challenges of the currently transforming scholarly communication landscape and, on the other, will actively seek and promote new solutions in the realm of new technologies and expanding amounts of information that better suit the needs of Researchers, Innovators, the Public and Funding bodies.

\n\nOpenAIRE’s mission is closely linked to the mission of the European Commission: to provide unlimited, barrier free, open access to research outputs financed by public funding in Europe. OpenAIRE fulfils the EOSC vision substantially, as its operations already provide the glue for many of the user and research driven functionalities, whether these come from the long tail of science (repositories and local support) or domain disciplined research communities or Research Infrastructures
