STUDIES ON BIOCHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF MARINE GASTROPOD PURPURA BUFO OFF VISAKHAPATNAM COAST

Now-a-days research works on nutritional value of molluscan species have gained importance because of their high rate of nutritional substances and used as food in many counties all over the world. But in India, consumption of molluscans as diet is very recent. Hence in this study we made an attempt to examine the biochemical constituents from Visakhapatnam was studied with reference to Pufura bufo. In the present study carbohydrate, protein and lipid content in Purfura bufo was recorded as 20.3±0.87; 22.45±1.02% and 4.56±0.54 respectively
