<dc:description>The Borexino experiment is a large volume liquid scintillator detector installed at the LNGS. Its characteristic feature is exteremely low backround in sub-MeV region, providing an oportunity for a vast physics program, far beyond the original proposal. The data obtained in the Phase II of the program, after the additional purification of the liquid scintillator, were used to perform the first spectroscopical measurement of the pp-neutrino flux, and significantly improve the precision of measurement of other solar neutrino fluxes from the pp-chain of solar reactions, including first robust measurement of the pep-neutrino flux. The Borexino is one of two detectors that registered geo-neutrino, antineutrino of terrestrial origin. These and other important results obtained with Borexino Phase-II data will be discussed. The perspectives of the final stage of the Borexino solar neutrino program that are centered on the goal of measuring the CNO neutrinos will be outlined.</dc:description>
