{ "description": "Patients with HIV infection are at an increased risk of malignancies, especially Kaposi's sarcoma and certain B-cell lymphomas. Highly active antiretroviral therapy has helped to reduce the incidence of many HIV-associated tumors, but as the number of people living with AIDS is increasing, AIDS-associated malignancies will probably rise, posing a significant treatment challenge. Yarchoan et al. discuss the pathogenesis of AIDS-related malignancies, and describe the successful treatments for Kaposi's sarcoma and lymphomas using treatments based on viral, vascular or other pathogenesis-based targets.", "license": "https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/legalcode", "creator": [ { "@type": "Person", "name": "Yarchoan, Robert" }, { "@type": "Person", "name": "Tosato, Giovanna" }, { "@type": "Person", "name": "Little, Richard F." } ], "headline": "Therapy Insight: AIDS-related malignancies\u2014the influence of antiviral therapy on pathogenesis and management", "image": "https://zenodo.org/static/img/logos/zenodo-gradient-round.svg", "datePublished": "2005-08-01", "url": "https://zenodo.org/record/1233371", "@context": "https://schema.org/", "identifier": "https://doi.org/10.1038/ncponc0253", "@id": "https://doi.org/10.1038/ncponc0253", "@type": "ScholarlyArticle", "name": "Therapy Insight: AIDS-related malignancies\u2014the influence of antiviral therapy on pathogenesis and management" }
