    <dct:description>&lt;p&gt;Gpyro is a powerful open-source simulation tool for computational study of pyrolysis and smouldering.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Due to the large number of input parameters and high degree of flexibility in specifying them, some beginning learners may still have difficulty in using this tool well, especially when applying it to investigate a specific case.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;We therefore produce this document, aiming to further help Gpyro users. We adapt published researches to several typical solid pyrolysis/smouldering problems and demonstrate how to use Gpyro to solve these problems. In the solutions, the key setting steps and validated simulation results are shown along with some input files attached as reference. We hope this document can serve as a complementary document to the official user-supporting files (ie. technical reference and user&amp;rsquo;s guidance) and provide more details for the implementation of Gpyro. Since it is a complementary rather than an overall user&amp;rsquo;s guidance, before reading this document, users should first read through technical reference and user&amp;rsquo;s guidance to get familiar with the basics on concepts, physical models, and implementation of Gpyro.&lt;/p&gt;</dct:description>
