<subfield code="a">
The notions of self-esteem and self-love are related in many respects, in everyday life, these notions are usually mixed. At first sight, they have the same meaning: to love oneself. But the real sense of such love is different. The difference between them is lager and deeper than similarity.

The present article is a comparative analysis of the concepts of self-esteem, self-love (egoism): the semantic differences between scientific, culturological and religious conceptions are fixed. The peculiarities of the display of child’s self-esteem and self-love are considered. The different points of view of the professional psychologists are analysed.
</subfield>
