    <dct:description>&lt;p&gt;L&amp;#39;histoire du roman policier fran&amp;ccedil;ais s&amp;#39;&amp;eacute;crit, le plus souvent, &amp;agrave; travers la succession de plusieurs formes dominantes du genre et de ses pr&amp;eacute;curseurs : tout commence avec le roman-feuilleton populaire et le roman judiciare (p.ex. Eug&amp;egrave;ne Sue, &amp;Eacute;mile Gaboriau) puis le roman d&amp;#39;aventures et d&amp;#39;exploits (p.ex. Gaston Leroux, Maurice Leblanc). Vient ensuite le r&amp;eacute;cit de d&amp;eacute;tection classique (p.ex. Georges Simenon), suivi par le roman noir (p.ex. L&amp;eacute;o Malet), le roman &amp;agrave; suspense (p.ex. Boileau/Narcejac) et le n&amp;eacute;o-polar (p.ex. Jean-Patrick Manchette, Didier Daeninckx). Une telle histoire du genre a pu s&amp;#39;appuyer sur des efforts typologiques tels que ceux de Tzvetan Todorov (1971) et &amp;agrave; &amp;eacute;t&amp;eacute; &amp;eacute;crite entre autres par Ulrich Schulz-Buschhaus (1975) en Allemagne ou par Boileau-Narcejac (1975) en France.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;La pr&amp;eacute;sente contribution voudrait jeter un regard compl&amp;eacute;mentaire sur un aspect pr&amp;eacute;cis de l&amp;#39;histoire du roman policier, un regard port&amp;eacute; par les th&amp;eacute;matiques dominantes &amp;agrave; telle ou telle &amp;eacute;poque et chez tel ou tel auteur. Elle pr&amp;eacute;sentera les r&amp;eacute;sultats de l&amp;#39;&amp;eacute;tude d&amp;#39;une collection de romans policiers ainsi que de leurs pr&amp;eacute;curseurs, publi&amp;eacute;s entre 1860 et 2000 environ. Cette collection est explor&amp;eacute;e &amp;agrave; travers la proc&amp;eacute;dure du &amp;ldquo;topic modeling&amp;rdquo; d&amp;eacute;velopp&amp;eacute; par David Blei (2011) en utilisant l&amp;#39;outil MALLET (McCallum 2002). Cette proc&amp;eacute;dure d&amp;eacute;couvre de mani&amp;egrave;re non-supervis&amp;eacute;e des groupes de mots th&amp;eacute;matiquement li&amp;eacute;es dans une collection de textes.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;La contribution &amp;eacute;prouve donc l&amp;#39;utilit&amp;eacute; de la technique du &amp;ldquo;topic modeling&amp;rdquo; pour l&amp;#39;histoire d&amp;#39;un genre litt&amp;eacute;raire comme le roman policier. Elle s&amp;#39;interroge &amp;eacute;galement sur la question de savoir en quoi le topic modeling, en tant qu&amp;#39;outil interm&amp;eacute;diaire entre les textes et le chercheur, donc en tant qu&amp;#39;interface num&amp;eacute;rique (Douehi 2012), promeut ou au contraire emp&amp;ecirc;che certaines mani&amp;egrave;res d&amp;#39;envisager le genre policier. Elle est l&amp;#39;occasion, aussi, de s&amp;#39;interroger sur les apports du paradigme des &amp;ldquo;humanit&amp;eacute;s num&amp;eacute;riques&amp;rdquo; et plus pr&amp;eacute;cis&amp;eacute;ment du &amp;ldquo;algorithmic criticism&amp;rdquo; (Ramsay 2011) aux &amp;eacute;tudes de lettres.&lt;/p&gt;</dct:description>
