In this paper we present the SIDE Workbench developed</p>\n\n<p>during the course of the SWITCH project. It uses TOSCA</p>\n\n<p>extensively for exchange of information within the SWITCH</p>\n\n<p>platform, and offers component-based application composition,</p>\n\n<p>software component modelling, infrastructure planning and provisioning</p>\n\n<p>through the entire life-cycle of time-critical applications.</p>\n\n<p>To show the application composition process we describe the</p>\n\n<p>development of a containerized interactive multi-tier application</p>\n\n<p>on the SIDE Workbench that is mapped into TOSCA, from which</p>\n\n<p>the corresponding Docker Compose file is then created.</p>",
