ABSTRACT
The article deals with the characteristic features of the emotionality’s representation on the example of L. Carroll’s tale “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. The author analyzes the speech of the characters, which is built on the game of words, the use of metaphors, comparisons, parallel structures etc., which causes the reader's emotional reaction, drawing his attention. Also, it is goes about the graphic means of expressiveness in L. Carroll’s tale “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”, which bear the pragmatic load, and therefore, influence the addressee of the written speech. The author emphasizes that emotionality in L. Carroll's tale is a combination and interaction of emotional situations, emotional states and experiences of heroes and figurative characters expressed by the author through a variety of lexical and stylistic means. It is revealed that thanks to the successful realization of emotions by L. Carroll in the tale “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”, the reader is included in the emotional content of the text, trying to empathize with the situation and assess it.
