    <dct:description>&lt;p&gt;Epilepsy is one of the most common serious neurological disorders. Epilepsy is one of the neurological disorders of the brain in which an individual experiences chronic abnormal bursts of electrical discharge in the brain. They are various types of epilepsy that are Simple partial seizure, Complex partial seizures, generalized seizure tonic clonic seizure, Absence seizures, atonic seizures, myoclonic seizures and infantile spas. The cause of convulsions must be clearly understood through some precise observation. Epileptic attack can be caused by biochemical insults to the brain, such as hypoglycemia, anoxia, hypocalcaemia, hyperventilation, water intoxication and sudden withdrawal of certain drugs such as barbiturates or alcohol. Antiepileptic drugs or anticonvulsant drugs or antiseizure are diverse group of pharmaceuticals aid in the treatment of epileptic seizures. Antiepileptic drugs or anticonvulsant drugs or antiseizure are diverse group of pharmaceuticals aid in the treatment of epileptic seizures. Phenytoin is one of the older genemiceion AEDs. AEDs suppress the rapid and excessive firing of neurons during seizures. This articles explains that types of epilepsy, mechanism of action of AEDs, and treatment of epilepsy.&lt;/p&gt;</dct:description>
