Description

Abietinella operculata (Jäderholm, 1903)

(Fig. 3G)

Abietinella operculata — Marques et al., 2005: 1443 –1450 (synonymy).

Material examined. 48EV194 , a stem up to 63 mm high and a partially stolonal colony, on S. glacialis (IK–2012– 10437) and a partially stolonal colony (IK–2012–10435).

Remarks. Well-known species that does not need further comment. See Marques et al. (2005) for an eXtensive description of the species and a wide discussion about the genus.

Ecology and distribution. Present material collected at depths between 325 and 409 m. Antarctic-Patagonian distribution (Stepanjants 1979).
