Description

Leptostegna tenerata Christoph

(Fig. 22)

Leptostegna tenerata: Beljaev & Mironov 2019: 255 (Sakhalin).

Material examined. 1 ♀, Sokhonda mount., 23.VII.2019.

Distribution. Russia (S RFE: SW Sakhalin, S Kurils—Kunashir, S Khabarovskii Krai, Primorskii Krai), Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku), North Korea, South Korea, NE and N China.

Remarks. The finding of L. tenerata in Sakhalin significantly expands its distribution range to the northeast. In Japan the larvae of the species were reported to feed on Abies sachalinensis (Pinaceae) probably erroneously, as in continental RFE the moths of L. tenerata are common in forests without conifers.
