The SHERO project is funded under the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) programme of the European Commission (grant agreement ID 828818). SHERO brings together leading experts in self-healing elastomers, piezoresistive and electroactive materials and robotic engineers working towards the ambitious development of fully-autonomous self-healing soft robotic devices, by integrating engineered functional materials, smart sensing and active actuation and control capabilities into soft robots.
The SHERO community shares data supporting peer reviewed publications and research by the consortium partners. In addition, it may accept high level work from peers that is complementary to the work performed by the partners, that benefits the goal of the SHERO project:
- conductive self-healing materials for soft sensor applications
- self-healing (soft) robotic actuators
- sensing of damage in elastomeric materials and soft devices
- structural health monitoring and damage remediation
