The availability of high-quality and sufficient data is important in the field of Fighting Crime and Terrorism (FCT) research. Limited domain-specific data presents a major challenge, hindering the development and implementation of effective methods, platforms, and tools.
The EU-funded LAGO project will create a trusted EU research data ecosystem to facilitate data-oriented research collaboration between law enforcement agencies, security practitioners, relevant EU agencies, researchers, and policymakers. Specifically, it will develop a reference architecture based on principles of decentralisation and transparency.
Compliant with EU data protection regulations, the reference architecture will be accompanied by technological tools to ensure its practical implementation. The ultimate goal of LAGO is to innovate in the FCT data-oriented research sphere.
