Aspiring Geoparque Algarvensis
Um Geoparque é uma área territorial com limites claramente definidos, que inclui um notável património geológico, associado a uma estratégia integrada de desenvolvimento de um território de forma sustentável. Um Geoparque é um lugar identitário, inspirador, transformador, de pertença que convida a visitar, fixar e investir, de forma consciente e em harmonia com os valores ambientais e culturais dos territórios. É, em suma, uma maneira feliz de estar e viver o território e legá-lo às gerações vindouras!
Os municípios de Loulé, Silves e Albufeira encontram-se, no momento, a trabalhar na candidatura do aspirante Geoparque Algarvensis a Geoparque Mundial da UNESCO.
